Sutton Trust
Pathways to the Professions is a FREE programme for Year 12 state-school students who would be the first in their family to attend university, have been eligible for Free School Meals, or attend a school with below-average progression to top universities. Choose one pathway: Banking & Finance, Engineering, Law, Medicine, or Veterinary Medicine. Includes work experience, employability skills sessions, and ongoing university/apprenticeship application support. In-person programmes (near partner universities) or online. Applications open now; deadlines vary by programme (usually end of September to early December). Apply via the Sutton Trust Pathways site.
Yorkshire Legal Careers Fair
A free careers fair bringing together 30+ leading Yorkshire law firms and legal employers. Meet employers, receive one-to-one CV advice, attend career sessions on applications, LinkedIn and interview preparation, and explore training contracts, graduate roles, solicitor apprenticeships and vacation schemes. Includes optional CV workshops and an attendee prize draw for a £250 Amazon voucher.
RPC
RPC Work Experience Insight Day for Year 13 or final-year college students interested in the firm’s 2027 solicitor apprenticeship. The day includes an introduction to RPC, structured networking, lunch, an application and assessment-centre workshop, and an interactive skills session. Applicants need 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at grade 4+ and A-levels at BBB (predicted or achieved). Register through Uptree; 20 places available.

An in-person solicitor apprenticeship insight day for Year 13 students. Includes an RPC partner welcome, networking with employees, lunch, an application and assessment centre workshop, and an interactive skills workshop. Only 20 spaces are available; applicants need 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 4+ and predicted or achieved BBB A-levels or equivalent.

Arm Technology Work Experience Day — Manchester, 5 November 2026. A full in-person day at Arm's Manchester office exploring technology and engineering careers. Ideal for students in the North of England interested in semiconductor design, software engineering or technology careers at a global company.

UK Civil Service
Government Cyber/STEM Work Experience Day — Manchester, 18–19 November 2026. Two days exploring cybersecurity and STEM careers within the UK Civil Service. Ideal for students interested in technology, cybersecurity or working for the government. Meet professionals from GCHQ, NCSC and related agencies. A second cohort from the June dates giving more students a chance to attend.
EY Foundation
Smart Futures is a paid employability skills and work experience programme run by the EY Foundation for young people. Includes quality paid training, real work experience and a personal business mentor. Multiple regional programmes across Business & Technology, Business & Finance, STEM Futures, Impactful Futures and Tech Futures. Application involves an online form followed by a short telephone interview. Applications for 2026/27 programmes are now open — choose a programme in a location near you. Eligibility criteria apply (e.g. for Business & Finance: GCSE grade C/equivalent in English & Maths, on track for 112 UCAS points, and a strong interest in a degree apprenticeship).

In-person Solicitor Apprenticeship Work Experience Day for Year 13 students interested in a law apprenticeship. Includes firm and department talks, activities, a networking lunch, department networking fair, solicitor apprenticeship session and application masterclass. Travel expenses up to £80 are reimbursed. Applicants need at least six GCSEs including English and Maths at grade 6+, and predicted ABB at A-level. Twenty-five places available; register through an Uptree student account.

Virtual work experience in architecture and design for students aged 13–17. Choose from two projects: (1) Design Work Experience — get familiar with SketchUp and design a house for a celebrity (~30 hours), or (2) Technical Work Experience — design and construct a new-build contemporary extension using Revit (~30 hours).
